Stan Winning at Auchinleck
We are just back form a really good weekend at Auchinleck but before that there had been a lot of behind the scenes preparation especially with the two new boys Stan and Basil.

Stan and Spike both went to Strathearn Hunter Trail which gave me a feel of what needed work on, with Stan (white houses mostly!)  and Spike was really good again although quite wild before the start!  He had to really grow up as I upped his class as the one he was entered in looked a little to small, so that made him think, but he is a real tryer and just got on with it.

It was then on to Scone with Elton who was in the Novice he has had quite a interupted  preparation as we were still battling with an abcess that he has had on and off since Belton so I was really pleased with a very settled test and a nice double clear for 5th.

We then loaded up Stan, Spike and Basil to do some XC Schooling with Basil and Spike jumping fab.  Stan was a little less perfect!  So I was definatly thinking I would have my work cut out to keep him confident at Auchinleck, I should'nt have doubted him!

We took Duck, Elton, Stan and Basil to Auchinleck with the first two going on Saturday and then the two new boys on Sunday.  Elton started everything off with a good test 27.5 and then jumped nicely for another 5th place, good boy!  Duck went well in the Advanced he was a fraction on his toes in the Dressage in a gale force wind so I was pleased enough with his test, he then had an unlucky pole show jumping still enjoying himself a bit much!  XC he was fab, we were pretty steady as not in with a real shout and he is off to Chatsworth this coming weekend so didn't want to rattle him up to much! He finished 13th.

On Sunday it was Stan and Basil's turn and they had obviously been watching and learning.  Stan lead from start to finish, doing a lovely test and then jumping a good double clear.  Basil was not to be out done and was 2nd after Dressage behind Ruth (he can be forgiven for that!)  then show jumped well but had the last fence down, gggggrrrrrr before jumping a lovely xc round (the only one in his section inside the time) to finish 2nd.   So I was thrilled with them both as they have not had much time to familiarise themselves with me and it was both of their first BE outings for 2011.

The next bit of big news is that Duck is entered for Luhmuhlen in the CCI**** ahhhhhhhhhhhh so all being well we will head off to Germany on the 17th of June.

Chatsworth this weekend with Duck in the CIC *** and then back home and to Floors with Elton, Stan and Basil.
